  My wife and I had heard the general store had been taken over recently. It was lunch time so we thought we would give it a go. The business is now Called MIINGO'S CAFE - Yes spelt with 2 i's, we ordered fish & chips (flake) & a hamburger with the lot. Wow ; fish & chips were delicious, flakes batter nice and crispy and the hamburger was one of the nicest burgers I have had for years. Menu to choose from is exceptional. We will be going back to support this great business and wish the new owners all the best in their new venture. A great boost for Smythesdale.

  Avoid at all costs. Run down, barely maintained, a history and reputation of disgusting food unfit for even animal consumption. Been shut down once that I know of, by the health department. Don't trust any food within its walls. Standards are nonexistent.

  I was morbidly driven out of the store when the clerk scratched his buttox before serving me a 6 month old pre warmed parstie. Absolutely horrible.

  Absolutely disgusting service skills, utter rubbish varitie of takeaway foods, and a appoling wait time.

  Good food, but don't like their burgers (undercooked and soggy). Their fish and chips are awesome, but be prepared to get a smaller amount of chips for minimum than you would think you'd get. Only downfall.
